In 2004 the Guinness Book of World Records named Gibson's "The World's Tallest Dog." Since then, the lovable giant had drawn attention to the international press and national television appearances and events. Gibson had even co-author of his very own book, titled "Gibson speaks." The book gives an overview of the life and career of the dog world's highest. Popularity aside, the owner of Sandy Gibson Hall is the most proud of his certification and work as therapy dogs for wheelchair assistance and special needs.

Gibson was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a very aggressive bone cancer in April 2009.

Remembergibson.com was created to promote three legs to the cause and honor the memory of Gibson. The Web site includes a memorial page where fans can pay tribute and express their condolences. The site also presents new charms Canine Cancer Awareness, sponsored by K9Grass, which is available for purchase.
